Rick has been an avid photographer for 40 years. After working for 8 years at Schnitzer Steel, a scrap-metal company, Rick left to pursue his passion as a photographer. He chose to further his education at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana. Rick considers this life change to be one of the best decisions he’s ever made. Rick fell in love with Telluride and has worked as a mountain guide/host for the past four years. Rick has a gallery in a restaurant called Allred’s at the top of the Telluride mountain.
Currently, Rick spends most of my time as a Commercial, Architectural and Real Estate Photographer. Still, he has a passion for landscapes, family portraiture, wildlife and pet portraits. Rick believes this makes his work diverse while showing his enjoyment of being behind the lens, capturing memories, and documenting events. Rick considers the camera as an extension of his soul and always has it with him if he sees an opportunity to shoot.
Rick has two grandchildren that live in Columbus, Georgia. Therefore, he splits his time between Columbus and Telluride. His future plans include teaching his grandchildren how to ski in the winter, how to hike in the summer, and to learn to use the camera.
